The reverse of the crowns of Great Britain is probably 

one the greatest designs of all numismatics. this bust type

was issued 1887 to 1892.  the crown weighs 28.2 grams. 

over 10% heavier than the standard US Silver Dollars and 

other counterparts such as the 5 francs of France & 5 Pesetas.

After Spain's time as a Republic ended with a royalist victory, 
Alfonso XII de Bourbon was restored to the Spanish throne. 
In honor of their returned King, the Spanish minted the first 
(as shown above) of a series of Alfonso Coins 
to circulate in Spain and the Indies 1875-1899

This is the first of 3 types of Alfonso XII busts to be minted in Spanish coins. it's a nice grade example showing complete hairlines & very light wear, some light scratches though.
